Unsuitable have been appointed by Birmingham Drugs and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) to create a campaign promoting its services to members of ethnic minorities in Birmingham via its KIKIT programme.
A notoriously difficult & sensitive subject owing to religious and cultural factors, Unsuitable have created a campaign that highlights the ease with which addicts can talk to trained advisers from similar backgrounds about drug and alcohol related issues. The campaign will run on posters featuring visual analogies of zipped mouths and ripped away ears highlighting how tricky it can be to both talk about and listen to drugs and alcohol related issues.
Richard Elwell, Partner in Unsuitable said: "Targeting members of ethnic minorities with subjects that are taboo both culturally and religiously was a challenging brief. However, rather than shy away, we've worked closely with the client to produce work that doesn't tiptoe around the problem but tackles it head-on."
